Built on the foundations of a feudal castle dating from before the 15th century, the current castle was rebuilt at the end of the 18th century. Its sober, elegant architecture features an east-west-facing main building surrounded by vast outbuildings.
One of the eighteenth-century pavilions has been preserved in the north-east corner, while a moat encircles the property, providing a majestic setting for the terraces and gardens.
The château's chapel, with its intimate charm, features a wood-panelled vault and a magnificent 18th-century grey marble altarpiece, which is listed as a heritage site.
