The Festival is delighted to welcome Nicolas Boutruche
But who is this famous Nicolas?
His work plays heavily on staging, detail and digital technology. He uses layers, modelling, clipping, etc. to compose his images.
His photographs combine architecture, extras and indoor/outdoor spaces, as in Le Grand Hôtel: a building with several levels, each room populated by characters, each photographed separately and then digitally integrated. His Grand Hôtel won him the 2nd World Photography Prize!
Humour, light surrealism, dreams and a slightly voyeuristic gaze are all present in his series.
You can also admire his work on the wall of Le Mans: it retraces the history of Le Mans...
He will be answering all your questions during the weekend...
