Le Roi qui n'aimait pas la musique / Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire

Musical tale / 50 mins / from 6 years

The Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire tells us, in notes and words, the story of the King who didn't like music. A tender tale in which music becomes the greatest of powers!
Once upon a time, there was a grumpy, jealous king who ruled over a small band of musicians. But he... hated music! He forbade his subjects to play a single note, plunging the kingdom into silence and sadness. Until the day a strange traveller and a sweet fairy came up with an unexpected solution: teach the king to play the flute or tambourine! Carried by more than 50 musicians, Karol Beffa's delicate, endearing melodies blend with Mathieu Laine's poetic story, told in the mischievous voice of Pierre Desvigne. Grétry's Caravane du Caire and Rossini's overture to L'Italienne à Alger complete this delightful musical journey for the whole family.
