Les Gaufrettes

The residents of the Mots Bleus Ehpad are shattering the walls of the institution. Wired from all sides, they take to the streets to music, with the joyful determination to put the old back in the public eye.

The senile, the crumbling, the decrepit, the dilapidated, the outdated, the faded?
the outdated, the faded... We'll simply call them "the old".
We want to honour these old people by giving them a place in the public arena.
With respect and tenderness, we're poking fun at this inescapable old age, and changing the way we look at this old age that we too often see only as a narrowing of possibilities.
Musical theatre is a familiar art form, and as with the company's other shows, humour remains at the heart of our work, brought to life by both slapstick situations and strong, unique characters. Our aim is to generate as much empathy with the audience as we have with our other show, Mademoiselle Orchestra.
