Conférence-dédicace “Le grand livre des Sarthois”

The authors realised that a number of works evoke the history of the Sarthe or its heritage.

Apart from a few biographies on the best-known personalities and artists, no one had ever brought together in a single work all those who had played a role in local, regional, national and even world history. The colossal task undertaken by the Auteurs du Maine et du Loir, with its hundred or so members, brought together some thirty writers. It took seven years to achieve this exceptional result: 400 personalities in a single book, with a succession of surprises and surprising discoveries.

Les Auteurs du Maine et du Loir has been in existence since 1955, founded by celebrities such as Hervé Bazin, Robert Merle, Régine Desforges and Catherine Paysan, with Jacques Gohier from the Sarth region as its driving force.
