Jasnieres & Coteaux du Loir
Land of vineyards par excellence, the south of Sarthe is characterized by the softness of its wooded hillsides, planted with vines and the whiteness of its soft limestone: tufa. The two AOCs produced in southern Sarthe, Jasnières (white) and Coteaux du Loir (white, rosé, red) date from 1937 and 1948 respectively. The Coteaux du Loir covers 22 towns in Sarthe and Touraine, while that of Jasnières, more secret, is in the communes of Lhomme and Ruillé-sur-Loir.

In the south of Sarthe, the Loir Valley has obtained national recognition through the “Vignobles et Découvertes” label.
