Along a 13km circuit, farmers from the Maine Saosnois invite you to discover their herds of cattle.
No fewer than seven meat breeds can be seen along the way: from the local Saosnoise breed to ambassadors from other regions such as Salers, Parthenaise, Charolaise, Rouge des Prés, Limousine and Blonde d'Aquitaine, the breeders are keen to share their passion with you.
Starting out from the village of Jauzé, you'll travel along country roads passing through Courcival and Saint Aignan... at the bend in the road, behind a hedgerow, you'll discover a herd whose coat is indicative of its breed. The explanatory signs at the entrance to the plots will help you to recognise them.
These breeders are helping to preserve a living heritage.
The local Saosnoise breed is our favourite!
This grassland cow is a small breed, descended from the old Manche and Percher breeds.
