La Flèche < >Durtal

The town of La Flèche is famous for its Prytanée National Militaire, its remarkable Zoo and its elegant windmills. Leaving from La Flèche, this final stage of the Loir Valley cycle tour takes you along small country roads to the town of Durtal, nestling at the foot of the ancient fortress of the kings of France. The marshlands along the Loir, with their reed beds, alluvial woodlands and wet meadows, are a truly unspoilt natural area, not forgetting the surprising discovery of the village of Les Rairies, where the brick-making tradition is still alive and well.
