Discover the history behind this trail!
Thanks to this trail, you can discover the town of Mézières sur Ponthouin, the first town in mainland France to be liberated from the fighting on 10 August 1944.
Sights to see along the way include the church, originally Romanesque but enlarged in the Gothic style, the Sherman tank of General Leclerc's 2nd armoured division, and the military monuments and sites associated with the liberation on 10 August 1944.
The route offers lovely views over the countryside and numerous sunken lanes.
And after your walk, why not grab a bite to eat at the magnificent Table du Puisard or, if you fancy a trip to the Far West for a few hours, the Valise à Cheval?
