This trail takes you through the Petite Charnie forest.
This trail takes you through the Petite Charnie forest. Covering 716 hectares, it is made up of hardwoods (oak, hornbeam, beech, aspen, chestnut, etc.) and softwoods (Douglas fir, Nordmann fir, maritime pine, Laricio pine, etc.). It also boasts a wealth of wildlife.
This trail starts around 15 km from Sillé-le-Guillaume, Conlie, Loué and Sainte-Suzanne-et-Chammes.
Start/finish point: Car park in the Saint-Symphorien forest near the picnic area along the D28.
- Cross the D28 to reach the path opposite the picnic area.
- Go straight on for 2 km, then at the large lay-by, take the ridge line on the left.
- Take this ridge path on the left.
- Pass the calvary at "Camp de la Vache Noire" and then "Le Chêne Moreau", then take the downhill path on the left.
- After Le Fourneau des Pâtisseaux, cross the D28 and follow the path along the edge of the forest.
- Shortly after passing the forester's house, leave a track on your left. At the next crossroads, where two tracks are separated by an oak tree, take the left-hand track.
- At the end of this track, turn left.
- Cross a crossroads and take the track on the right. When you come to a barrier, cross the road and continue along the
the path opposite. Join the main gravel track and turn left.
- After 200 m, take the first track on the right through the barrier. Continue straight ahead until you reach the intersection of plots 5 and 6. Turn right at this point.
- At a large crossroads, turn left. Cross the next crossroads, then turn left
left between plots 4 and 5, then right between plots 4 and 14.
- At the edge of the forest, turn left between plots 14 and 20.
- Drive past "Le Grand Étang". Turn right at the barrier and continue straight ahead
for about 1 km to reach the car park at the starting point.
