72000 LE MANS
from 10h00 to 18h00
There is no society without animals. They are sources of food, used for pulling or carrying, but they can also be dangerous or harmful. Some are tamed and become pets, while others are indifferent to us. Wild or domestic, their presence has always been part of our daily lives. But this close relationship is not the only link that binds us to the animal world: animals are also present in legends, superstitions, myths and religions.
The relationship between humans and animals is at the heart of this new presentation. Based on the museum's chronological circuit, from prehistory to the end of the Middle Ages, almost 70 naturalised animals take over the exhibition space.
