Bonnétable's covered market was built in 1856 to replace the previous ones, which were too dilapidated. Once a commercial centre, the building was used at the beginning of the 20th century as a village hall. The large arcades were then blocked off and a forebuilding was added to serve as cloakrooms.

The building was then abandoned for several years.

Fully restored, with the arches reopened to give them back their original appearance, the halls now house the School of Music and Dance.
