This chapel, built of Roussard sandstone and Bernay stone, dates from the early 16th century. It takes its name from the Old French word "labit", meaning "distress", "pity" and "misfortune".
In fact, it consecrates Notre-Dame-de-Compassion, the name of the Virgin venerated in this place. The group, sculpted from a single block of limestone, includes a seated statue of the Virgin of Sorrows, carrying the body of Christ on her lap.
