A public wash-house

At the end of the 19th century, the local council set aside a plot of land for a public wash-house. Located at one of the entrances to the village (now rue des Genêts d'Or), it used to be one of the most popular washing-places for the women of Brittany. Nowadays, it serves little purpose other than to store water for fire-fighting. Partly renovated in 2002, it remains a place steeped in history, in the midst of a particularly pleasant setting.

In 1952, the residents of Métairies and Hallerie helped each other to build another washhouse (the Hallerie washhouse), which was still in use in 2003. It has since been demolished.
