In 1180, at the request of the Lords of Courcillon, monks from the Order of Saint Augustine, who were dependent on an abbey in Le Mans, built the Priory and the adjoining church. In 1660, one of the priors added a 2nd tower, restored the facades and converted the rooms into guest rooms. After the monks, priests lived in the priory until 1905.
