Gaston Floquet is an artist who takes hold of the world around him. Bone, wood, stone, scrap metal...

Gaston Floquet was an artist of his time. He was very familiar with all current and past artistic research. He drew on it, but he created in his own way. When a neighbour passed by and said ironically, "So, you're still doing Picasso?", Gaston replied, "No, I'm doing Floquet! What he meant was that he was producing something that was specific to him. He was not an imitator. Each signed work is original, and sometimes highly recognisable. His artistic production is marked by his origins, his life, his own research and his own talent. Like all artists, his art is the fruit of cross-fertilisation between the history of art, history in general, his own history and his personal explorations.
