Alcest, founded in 1999 by Neige, is a pioneer of blackgaze, fusing shoegaze and post-black metal. With Winterhalter since 2009, the band alternates melancholy and power on landmark albums such as Écailles de lune (2010), Shelter (2014) and Spiritual Instinct (2019). In 2024, Les Chants de l'Aurore continues this dreamlike exploration, establishing Alcest as a key figure in atmospheric rock.
