Rarely has a singer's debut so quickly garnered public interest and critical acclaim. On the strength of her first mini-album, Monstrueuse, released in 2024, Solann was nominated three times at the 2025 Victoires de la Musique awards, and walked away as female revelation of the year.
At just 25, behind a fragile, diaphanous image, Solann hides a confidence and power worthy of the greatest. When it comes to songwriting, Barbara inevitably comes to mind, because like her, she knows how to tackle the toughest themes with poetry and accuracy, and to embody the concerns of her time. In terms of composition, Björk comes to mind, with her ability to switch from raw electro-experimentalism to gentle melody. In concert, her incisive lyrics are wonderfully brought to life, carried in turn by a simple ukulele or synthetic sounds. A must-see!
