The estate was originally a 16th-century fortified farm surrounded by a moat on the edge of the Sarthe forest. It is also home to chef Anthony Boucher's bistronomic restaurant. The gîte can accommodate up to 200 people. The restaurant seats 30 in the dining room and 12 on the mezzanine.
