The interest of this route lies in the succession of landscapes. You'll have plenty of time to enjoy the forest and discover the localities of Boisouges, St Chéron and Le Vieux Lavardin, an ancient fortified castle whose keep was restored in the 15th century.
Start/Finish point: Place de l'Église in Mézières-sous-Lavardin.
On the way :
- Take an alley behind the church and join the CD 75 (towards Conlie).
- Follow the road as far as "La Grande Roche".
- Turn left onto a surfaced track.
- On the left, take a footpath that continues along a small road to the Château du Vieux Lavardin.
- Go down a sunken track and climb up to "La Bigottière".
- Enter the forest and pass a pond.
- Turn left, still in the forest, and head north as far as the edge of the forest.
- Turn left onto a road leading to the hamlet of Boisouges.
- Take a footpath around this hamlet and down to Saint-Chéron (panoramic view).
- On leaving Saint-Chéron, turn left onto a track that leads past ponds and then a road.
- Turn left into the village.
