Before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Circuit de la Sarthe!

Between 1911 and 1913, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, then the Automobile Club de la Sarthe et de l'Ouest (ACSO), organised the Grand Prix de France on 3 occasions along the Sarthe circuit. The 54km route passes through Le Mans, Ruaudin, Mulsanne, Ecommoy, Saint-Mars-d'Outillé, Le Grand-Lucé, Parigné-l'Évêque and Changé. The Communauté de Communes du Sud-Est Manceau has therefore devised a geocaching trail following the route of the circuit, with a cache to be found in each of the towns it passes through.

Each large cache tells the story of these races and how they have enabled the ACSO to become a major player in the world of motor racing, using archive images, texts available in French and English and miniature vehicles.

Over 7 stages, players have to answer a question in order to find a number; the 7 numbers obtained allow them to discover the coordinates of the 8th cache, the mystery cache, which contains a small souvenir to be collected on all the geocachings in South-East Manceau.
