Briosne lies at the crossroads between the ancient road from Le Mans to Évreux, which you can follow from "La Pièce" to "Éclopas", and the medieval road from Montfort to the Saosnois (see route no. 3). In the cemetery, the Romanesque chapel of Sainte-Anne has served as the parish church since the destruction of the church of Saint-Georges during the Revolution. The communes of Briosne and Sables merged in 1965. Sables inspired Catherine Paysan to write her novel "Le nègre de Sables".
