Both communes are characterised by a village that, in earlier times, was limited to the church and its cemetery, plus the town hall and school emblematic of the Third Republic. In Jauzé, however, the moat visible behind the church bears witness to the existence of an important manor house. The church at Terrehault is an example of the architectural simplicity of certain rural churches of the 12th century.
