Here's a route that will take you to the lookout point in the Perseigne forest without too much difficulty if you're equipped with an electric bike, but with some good gradients for the others.
The Maine Saosnois is a rural region with lush green countryside made up of bocage and forest, particularly on this route to the Perseigne lookout, the highest point in our department (340m). As you pass through villages such as Contilly, Neufchâtel en Saosnois, Aillières-Beauvoir and Saint Rémy du Val, you'll want to make a long stop to discover their churches, chapels, châteaux, dwellings and eco-museums (Maison du chanvre et de la ruralité and Maison du sabot et des métiers d'antan).
You can hire an electrically-assisted bicycle from the Maine Saosnois Tourist Office - Information on 02 43 97 60 63.
