The Rouanneraies site, owned by the Sarthe Federation for Fishing and Protection of the Aquatic Environment, is a natural setting nestling in the heart of the Sarthe Valley, 13 km south-west of Le Mans, in the commune of Fillé-sur-Sarthe.
The 8-hectare lake is already well known to anglers. It is one of the 'hot spots' for fishing near Le Mans, not only for carnivorous fish but also and above all for its carp population.
It's also a popular spot for walkers, who can easily make their way around the lake while observing the many birds that inhabit it.
Carnivore or float-tube fishing is only permitted on even-numbered weeks, and only during the periods when pike fishing is open.
Spearfishing is permitted every day of the year.
