Designated a Sensitive Natural Area (ENS) in 2017 by the Sarthe Departmental Council, the Vallée de Misère scree is an important habitat for pioneer moss and lichen vegetation. It is also home to numerous reptiles and insects such as the two-striped lizard and the sock spider, the only spider mite in the Pays de la Loire.
Very sensitive to human presence, the scree is not accessible to visitors. However, a viewpoint overlooking the scree and the valley will allow you to admire it without damaging it. Please keep to the path, pick up your rubbish, keep your dogs on a lead, do not use motorised vehicles and do not start fires.
