Situated in the heart of a bocage landscape, the farm has naturally turned to mixed farming. The farm's 120 hectares are mainly given over to grass, but around thirty hectares are also given over to growing cereals (wheat, triticale, maize and oats) and protein crops (broad beans, peas, linseed). Most of the meadows are natural, with a complex and rich flora. Some of the farm's meadows have been sown with ryegrass, fescue or cocksfoot, not forgetting clover, which fixes nitrogen from the air, eliminating the need for mineral fertilisers and preventing leakage into the water table. The diversity of these crops means that we can raise around sixty cows in complete autonomy, producing almost 400,000 litres of milk every year, some of which is processed in Emilie's workshop, the rest being sold to the 'Biolait' group of organic producers.
The farm's activities are complemented by the rearing of organic Loué chickens, which are fed 100% local cereals, some of which are produced on the farm, as part of the "grains de terroir bio" approach.
At the farm, we sell raw milk, crème fraîche, fromage frais in faisselle or creamy, tartine and chives, Le P'tit Joly fromage frais in various flavours, and Le P'tit Cré-meuh matured cheese, all organic of course!
